Simi Valley, CA – Dorina continues to make headlines for her work with the Youth Empowerment Summit (YES!) Program. Featured in Acorn articles in September 2022 and again in October 2023, Timbol’s dedication to youth empowerment is widely recognized.
YES! aims to equip high school students with essential leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. The summit provides an interactive environment where students tackle personal and school-related issues through group activities and problem-solving with peers and adult leaders. Sessions cover leadership, ethics, conflict management, and the importance of effective communication and listening. Inspirational messages from guest speakers connect with participants on a personal level, influencing their perspectives and actions.
A standout feature of YES! is the leadership competition, where students work in teams to complete tasks. These activities emphasizes the value of collaboration and kindness, teaching students to appreciate individual abilities and prioritize people over material goals.
“The goal of YES! is to create life-changers,” Timbol said. “We want to develop young leaders who can return to their schools with the skills and confidence to make a positive impact.”
