A Champion For Students
With over a decade of experience in community service and youth development, I've dedicated my career to supporting disadvantaged youth. As the former Executive Director of a well-known nonprofit, I led initiatives that earned recognition, including the California Nonprofit of the Year and the Youth Champion Award from the Boys and Girls Club of Simi Valley. My mission is to ensure every student has the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.
A Voice For Parents
I believe in the power of education and the importance of listening to parents. Your concerns and needs are my top priority. Through various community programs, I've worked tirelessly to make sure parents' voices are heard and their needs are met. I am committed to creating supportive environments for families in Simi Valley, where parents feel empowered and involved in their children's education.
A Partner for Teachers
I understand the challenges teachers face and am dedicated to improving resources and support systems in our schools. My experience with Rotary International and the Boys & Girls Club has shown me the value of collaboration. By working closely with educators, I aim to improve educational outcomes and create a better learning environment for all.

Dorina Timbol was instrumental in developing the Airman and Family Readiness and Key Spouse Programs for the Air National Guard. Her efforts helped formalize these programs, which now significantly enhance the quality of life for approximately 400,000 ANG personnel and their families. [more]
US Military Family Readiness Programs have been around informally for decades and research began at the Pentagon in the early 1980s. By the late 1990s, there still was no formalized program addressing the unique needs of service members in the Air National Guard. Dorina Timbol stepped up at that time to spearhead what eventually became known as the Airman and Family Readiness and Key Spouse Programs. Recognizing the need for a comprehensive support network for the families of citizen soldiers, Dorina used her project management and networking acumen to provide an avenue to address the logistical, financial, and emotional challenges faced by military families. Her dedication and skill helped Airmen and their families access a myriad invaluable resources including counseling, financial planning, and family support groups.
Most elements of Dorina’s efforts were eventually incorporated into the Air National Guard Airman and Family Readiness Program as well as the Key Spouse Program. In its current form, Air National Guard Airman and Family Readiness program that employs more than a hundred people to provide assistance, guidance, and support that enhances the quality of life for service members and their families during peacetime and upon mobilization for approximately 400,000 ANG personnel and their families. The Key Spouse Program has evolved to a formal commander's program that offers informal peer-to-peer/Wingman family support. Both of these programs have evolved in the last 20 years into effective and important institutions thanks to the efforts of civilians like Dorina Timbol who stepped in when they saw an urgent need that was not being met.
